I love LOVE, especially when it’s a sweet surprise proposal for one of my friends! I have known Luke for a while because his brother, Drew, is one of my husband and I’s best friend. When Luke messaged me about wanting to capture his proposal to Hannah I could not have said YES fast enough. We texted back and forth about ideas, and when the best time was. He knew he wanted to pop the question where he asked Hannah to be his girlfriend and my heart started to flutter. Luke, Deanna (one of Hannah’s best friends), and I secretly planned a day to hike to THE spot to figure out logistics, where I would hide, and how Hannah should be facing to get the best shots!

Then the day finally came, July 25th! Eli (my husband), a few of Hannah’s closest friends and myself made the hike to set up the sweetest, intimate picnic. There were flowers, pictures of Luke and Hannah, and obviously some champagne to celebrate! I knew it was about time for them to be arriving to Latta Plantation, so I got in my spot to hide. I always get butterflies when shooting proposals, its a mixture of excitement, nervousness, anxiousness, and happiness all in one! Then the text came across, “We are here, see you soon!”

The proposal was so special! Luke completely surprised Hannah and of course she said “YES!” They celebrated with champagne and a Chipotle lunch picnic to soak up the beginning of such a sweet season. Once they left the park Luke had another surprise for Hannah back at the house, where all their friends and family were waiting to celebrate them!
